This training is designed to help students, faculty, and staff to become familiar with and make the most of the services, spaces, and resources available in the libraries across the URJC campuses. During this two-hour learning experience, participants will become acquainted with the library's structure and operation, learn to locate and manage bibliographic resources and electronic tools, and discover how to use the various services the library offers. The course aims to promote the comprehensive use of the library as a key support for academic development, fostering independence in information retrieval and the effective use of available resources. What you will learn

The course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the services, tools, and spaces available in the various campus libraries. This training enables students to develop the skills to navigate the academic environment independently and effectively, making the most of information and technological resources.

The course will cover:

  • Structure and operation of the BURJC: organization of its spaces, schedules, rules and service channels
  • Library services: loan, return, renewal, document reservation, personalized training and more
  • Locating and managing bibliographic resources: exploring catalogs, databases, and academic publications
  • Promoting user autonomy: developing information literacy skills for the ethical search and use of information

Requirements

  • No prior knowledge is necessary, as this is an introductory course aimed at students interested in learning about the URJC Library
  • Given the general nature of the course, no prior qualification is required
