    This legal notice establishes the conditions of use and access to the URJCx Website, whose hosting is offered by the Rey Juan Carlos University, hereinafter URJC, the entity that owns the web domain https://urjcx.urjc.es (hereinafter MOOC Platform).

    The purpose of this legal notice is to comply with all the obligations to which an information society service such as that provided by the MOOC Platform is subject, as well as to establish the General Conditions that regulate access to and use of this service.

    1. General Information

    The MOOC Platform is owned by the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), with CIF Q2803011B and address at C/Tulipán s/n, 28933 Móstoles – Spain.

    2. Purpose of the MOOC Platform

    The MOOC Platform aims to provide access to online courses (MOOCs) on various topics and levels, in order to promote online education and learning. The courses are available to anyone interested in participating, without restrictions based on geographical location or prior education.

    3. General conditions of use of the MOOC Platform

    General policy

    Anyone accessing the MOOC Platform must read the General Terms and Conditions in effect at the time of access and must refrain from using the MOOC Platform if they do not fully agree with its content. Simply using the MOOC Platform confers the status of User ("User") and implies full acceptance of and unreserved adherence to these General Terms and Conditions. These terms and conditions are intended to regulate and inform the User about the proper use of the MOOC Platform. Therefore, you should read them carefully and comply with them.

    Simply accessing the MOOC Platform does not require registration or the provision of personal data. This obligation only arises if the user wishes to register as a New User or, if they are a URJC User, accesses the platform to perform a specific action that requires such data. For example, providing an email address is considered personal data.

    All information provided by the User must be authentic, truthful, and lawful. The User will be solely responsible in all cases. Furthermore, the User will be responsible for the proper use of the platform.

    The User also declares that they assume full responsibility for the content, opinions, or links they post in the Forums and that these are their sole authorship, guaranteeing that they do not infringe upon the privacy, image, or intellectual or industrial property rights of third parties. Under no circumstances is URJC responsible for the opinions expressed or links posted in the forums, nor for any consequences arising therefrom. URJC reserves the right to remove any content, opinions, or links that violate these terms and conditions.

    The User agrees to use the MOOC Platform lawfully and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Furthermore, the User will be solely responsible for any use they make of the course content, as well as the data and information provided on the MOOC Platform. URJC is not responsible for the results obtained through the use of the courses, nor for any damage or loss arising from their completion.

    URJC is not responsible for the interruption of any service or access to the MOOC Platform without prior notice, whether for security, technical, maintenance reasons or caused by a third party.

    URJC reserves the right to modify these terms of use, as well as any specific terms that may apply. Users will be notified of any changes to these terms through their publication by URJC on its MOOC Platform.

    Only minors who have previously obtained permission from their parents, guardians, or legal representatives may use the MOOC Platform, and these individuals will be responsible for all actions taken by the minors under their care.

    4. Intellectual Property

    The MOOC Platform and the different elements and contents that comprise it, such as photographs, graphic designs, trademarks, logos and other distinctive signs, texts, videos, audios, presentations or infographics, as well as any others susceptible to protection, are subject to intellectual and industrial property rights of which URJC is the exclusive owner or assignee with the required scope, or a third party, not implying assignment or transfer in favor of the User of any intellectual or industrial property right over the MOOC Platform or over any of its constituent elements.

    The User is expressly prohibited from reproducing, distributing, transforming, publicly communicating, making available, extracting, reusing, forwarding or exploiting by any means or procedure the MOOC Platform or its constituent elements, except in cases where it is permitted by law, the licenses of the material or there is express written authorization from URJC.

    Any User wishing to establish a hyperlink between their website and the MOOC Platform (hereinafter referred to as a Hyperlink) must comply with the terms set forth in these terms of use. The inclusion of a Hyperlink under terms other than those set forth below will require the prior written consent of URJC.

    URJC only authorizes the hyperlink that allows redirection to the MOOC Platform, but in no case will it imply the total or partial reproduction of the Platform.

    The User may not reproduce or imitate on their website all or part of the MOOC Platform, in particular they may not reproduce or imitate the way of presenting or arranging the contents of the MOOC Platform in such a way that a risk of association or confusion between the MOOC Platform and the User's website may be generated.

    The use of frames (or frames) as well as assembled or deep links to the MOOC Platform that generate confusion and that may attribute ownership of content to an entity other than URJC is prohibited, nor is authorization granted to create an environment or navigation bar over the content of the MOOC Platform.

    Links from other websites to https://urjcx.urjc.es in order to promote the courses and encourage participation in them.

    The direct or indirect declaration or suggestion of any kind of collaborative or business partnership relationship between the User's website or company and URJC is prohibited. In this regard, the User shall refrain from presenting the content made available on the website where the Hyperlink is incorporated as content authorized, approved, or supervised by URJC.

    The website on which the Hyperlink is established may not contain any distinctive signs, including names, logos or slogans, that identify URJC, except for those names that are part of the link itself.

    The website on which the Hyperlink is established will not contain information or content that is illegal, contrary to morality, generally accepted good customs and public order, nor will it contain content that infringes on any rights of third parties.

    In any case, URJC reserves the right to prohibit or disable, at its sole discretion, any hyperlink to the MOOC platform at any time. The user will be obliged to immediately modify or remove from their website any hyperlink, content, or distinctive sign belonging to URJC if so requested.

    5. Exclusion of liability

    URJC does not guarantee the availability and continuity of the operation of the MOOC Platform and the Services, without prejudice to URJC providing prior notice of any potential issues

    interruptions in the operation of the Platform and the Services.

    URJC is excluded from all liability to the full extent contemplated by current legislation, with respect to any liability for damages of any kind that may be attributed to the lack of availability or continuity of the MOOC Platform, to the frustration of the utility that Users may have attributed to the MOOC Platform and the services, to the fallibility thereof, and in particular, although not exclusively, to failures in accessing the different web pages of the Platform or those from which the services are provided.

    URJC does not guarantee the privacy and security of the use of the MOOC Platform and Services and, in particular, does not guarantee that unauthorized third parties will not be able to learn about the type, conditions, characteristics, and circumstances of the use that Users make of the MOOC Platform and Services. URJC excludes all liability, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, for any damages of any kind that may arise from unauthorized third parties learning about the type, conditions, characteristics, and circumstances of the use that Users make of the MOOC Platform and Services.

    URJC does not control or guarantee the absence of viruses or other harmful elements in the Content that may cause damage to your computer system (software and hardware) or to electronic documents and files stored on your computer system. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, URJC excludes all liability for damages of any kind that may arise from the presence of viruses or other harmful elements in the Content that may cause damage to the computer system, electronic documents, or files of Users.

    The MOOC Platform may contain links to third-party websites that are independent of URJC. These links are provided solely for informational or convenience purposes for the User.

    URJC exercises no control whatsoever over the content, accuracy, legality, or any other aspect of third-party websites linked from the MOOC Platform. Therefore, it assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, practices, or any other aspect of such third-party websites. Access to and use of these external links are subject to the terms and conditions of each website, and it is recommended that you carefully review these terms and conditions before interacting with them.

    6. Modification of the MOOC Platform

    URJC reserves the right and ability to renew, modify or transform the MOOC Platform and the elements contained therein without prior notice to Users.

    7. Applicable law and jurisdiction

    The general and specific conditions of use of the MOOC Platform, as well as the relationships established between URJC and the User, will be governed by current Spanish legislation.

    Any dispute that may arise between URJC and the User will be submitted to the Courts and Tribunals of Madrid, with express waiver of any other jurisdiction that may correspond to them.

    7. Code of Honor

    These are the fundamental principles and practices that represent the User's commitment to the academic integrity regulations of Rey Juan Carlos University:

    • The User will only register with one account.
    • The answers in the User's activities and exams will always be their own work (except in cases where collaboration has been explicitly permitted).
    • The User will not provide solutions to activities or exams to anyone. This includes both solutions written by the User and official solutions provided by the course's academic staff.
    • The User will avoid any conduct or activity that dishonestly improves their results, or dishonestly improves or impairs the results of others.
