Enhancing Students' Capabilities with Generative Text Artificial Intelligence

A course by Luisa Eugenia Reyes Recio
Internal training Aimed at URJC students RAC URJC: 0.3 ECTS

Description

This course aims to train students in the responsible, efficient, and strategic use of artificial intelligence as a tool to support learning and academic productivity.
The program introduces the fundamentals of generative AI and promotes technological literacy to understand how AI systems work, their limitations, and their ethical application in education. It focuses on developing skills to communicate effectively with intelligent tools through prompt, response analysis using A/B testing, and continuous improvement of results.

The course covers the generation of academic content using conversational AI (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, NotebookLM, among others), the use of appropriate models depending on the activity—programming, numerical exercises, writing, art, or experimentation—and the practice of AI-assisted assessments. It also delves into the use of Copilot within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook) as a comprehensive environment to support studying and managing personal projects.

The training is complemented by an introduction to chatbots and intelligent agents, teaching students how to create personalized assistants using Copilot Studio and other technological platforms to increase productivity, time management, and learning efficiency. This approach equips students with digital autonomy and critical thinking skills to integrate artificial intelligence into their academic and professional development.
